BLACK NICKEL PLATING CHEMICALS
CHEMICALS FOR NICKEL PLATING
Black nickel plating is used to provide products specific optical and decorative properties. The plating color varies from black to dark brown, and with the interference film - blue-violet color.
Properties of black nickel plating
Black nickel has extremely low levels of corrosion resistance, ductility and strength of adhesion to the coated item, especially when deposited on steel. Therefore, prior to the deposition of black nickel sublayer deposition of copper or nickel is used, followed by polishing. Black nickel coating is most often used for brass products, the best results are obtained when these products are pre-coated with copper. Black nickel deposited directly on the iron adheres poorly, that’s why iron and steel products are previously coated with copper or nickel.
These properties of the black nickel plating are mainly used for protective and decorative black coatings and are used in optical industry and in some special engineering industries.
BS Series Chemical for black nickel plating
